Several Scythe turrets were placed around the Office of Naval Intelligence's SWORD and CASTLE Bases on Reach. The base of the weapon can also be used to employ the M95 Lance missile launcher instead, replacing the rotary cannon mount. The weapon's control panel is located on the body of the platform this panel allows an operator to activate or deactivate the weapon, as well as to modify targeting parameters. It is usually synchronized with an automated tracking system or a defense-control artificial intelligence. The M71's tetrapodal base allows the emplacement to be deployed on varied types of terrain. Scythe emplacements are also armed with an M41 rocket launcher to complement the main cannon. The Scythe can even quickly disable the shields of low-flying Seraph fighters. This high rate of fire allows the Scythe to strip away the armor of Covenant aircraft with relative impunity, especially when the craft fly at low altitudes, such as the Dextro Xur-pattern Spirit and Ru'swum-pattern Phantom and the Type-26 Banshee. It is specifically designed to fire the powerful 20x102mm high-explosive incendiary/armor piercing cartridge from a 100,000-round drum using its six barrels, the Scythe can fire at a rate of 6,000 rounds per minute, though some Scythes are fed by 1,000-round drums and consequently maintain lower rates of fire. The raiding player's army is then immediately sent home.īecause it is an ignorable type defense, you can only use a maximum of 3 (since the 4.0 Patch) MG Turrets on the battlefield at a time. The M71 Scythe is a powerful pneumatically powered, air-cooled anti-aircraft weapon that performs reliably against many hostile aircraft. This strategy is employed with friends raiding each other, as attacking with only a MG Turret will result in a loss for the defending player. However, it is worth noting that this unit is an ignorable if the last non-ignorable in a battle is injured/damaged, you will be forced to retreat when it is your turn again, and even if you win, no SP will be rewarded.

Due to this precise attack, it is excellent against boars. When put in the front row, it can reach to the second enemy row, potentially hitting 10 enemy units. The cost of this unit is relatively low, allowing it to be used almost as an expendable unit. However, the Gunner and the Heavy Gunner are available at a much earlier level. With 130, it can be easily destroyed but when it attacks, it has slight armor piercing, and is immune to cold weather in the Eastern Wastes making it a little more versatile. The Unmanned Machine Gun Turret can easily take the place of either a Gunner or a Heavy Gunner in nearly any situation.

The only downside to this unit are its low health points.
BATTLE NATIONS AA TURRET FULL
Unlike most other machine gun attacks, it can hit the full 5 width of your enemy's formation, regardless of its own left-right position. The machine gun attack does a decent amount of damage at rank one topping off at 70-130. The Unmanned Machine Gun Turret (short: MG Turret) is a fragile, but pretty hard-hitting unit built in the Vehicle Factory.
